Description

Source code to model the He distribution in apatite/zircon grains for a finite cylinder geometry based on the RDAAM model of Flowers et al. (2009) implemented in:

Glotzbach, C., & Ehlers, T. A. (2024). Interpreting cooling dates and histories from laser ablation in-situ (U-Th-Sm)/He thermochronometry.

The code is written in c++ and there are additional files that can be used to generate a mex-file to be used in Matlab. Run the following command in Matlab command window to generate the mex-file for your operating system:

mex RDAAM_cylinder_ProDiffMEX.cpp

If successful you can use the accompanied .m-file to test the mex-file. The 'HeProfile2SpotAgesCylinder.m' can be used to reproduce some of the figures (e.g. Fig. 8) in the manuscript of Glotzbach and Ehlers.

Please conact C. Glotzbach for questions - christoph.glotzbach@uni-tuebingen.de
