Plesiomma lineatum (Fabricius, 1781)
Asilus lineatus Fabricius, 1781: 465. Type locality: United States (Virgin Islands: Saint Croix [St. Crux Americes] [Type ♀?, NHMD].
World distribution: United States [not India] (Fabricius 1781: 465; Kertész 1909: 146; Lal 1960: 52; Oldroyd 1975: 123; Scarbrough & Pérez-Gelabert 2006: 81).
Note: Lal (1960: 52) included this species in the Catalogue of Indian Asilidae. This species, however, is endemic to the U.S. Virgin Islands (Oldroyd 1975: 123; Scarbrough & Pérez-Gelabert 2006: 81). We exclude this species from the Indian fauna as a lapsus.
