Description

Fig. C1 : Altitude of the VER maximum maps for PJs 6, 20, 32, 33, 42 and 43. For every PJ the top twin panels represent the case of mono-energetic distribution at the northern (left panel) and southern (right panel) auroral regions and the bottom twin panels represent the kappa distribution case. Because of the lack of the northern observation for PJ43 we presented comparison only for southern auroral regions for the monoenergetic case (left panel) and kappa distribution case (right panel) for the precipitated electrons. For every PJ, the delimitation of the main emission region we used in this figure has been defined by Groulard et al. (2024).

Tab. D1 : In this table, we present a table summarizing the results of our study applied to PJs 6, 11, 20, 32, 42, and 43. The values for brightness, inverted mean energies, and the altitudes of the derived VER maximum are medians calculated in the regions of the main emission (ME), the polar emission (PE), and the outer emission (OE). In parentheses, we have calculated the standard deviations to account for the dispersion of values in these different regions.
