Description
In most research conducted in relation to psychology, learning, and education, teaching methods and strategies, educational planning, and educational technology, we often encounter hundreds of terms and specialized discussions alongside the terminology of teaching materials (subject matter) and educational content. Educational materials or content in traditional and modern methods of teaching and learning come in various forms, but they all fundamentally consist of textual content. Presenting educational materials (educational content) in the form of a visual glossary, alongside (or instead of) textual content, aims to enhance the learning of hypothetical learners who will be tested in this project.The glossary (thesaurus) has two main applications: 1. Standardizing information; 2. Retrieving mentioned information. In this project, we aim to demonstrate that first, educational content (subject matter) can be presented in a structured glossary format, and second, this structured format can serve as an effective educational tool or aid in the teaching of applied sciences, thereby increasing the learning of learners.In this project, initially, the first-year high school chemistry textbook will be selected as a case study, and all concepts and topics discussed in this project will be presented in the form of a visual glossary. Then, using two methods of testing and surveying, we will assess the scores and opinions of the test and control groups in several high schools in Tehran. This project can be relevant from both fundamental and practical perspectives, linking the fields of information science, communication, knowledge management, psychology, educational technology, and computer science.
