Description
The LHRH test, or gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) stimulation test, is used in diagnosing children with pubertal disorders. The use of GnRH analogs such as leuprolide acetate has been studied in the diagnosis of precocious puberty. This should be administered at doses of 10 - 20 μg/kg (maximum 500 μg) subcutaneously and then blood samples are taken at 2, 4, and up to 24 hours. Here we analyze the compounding of leuprolide acetate 22.5 mg in ELIGARD® prefilled syringe to administer such a small dose.
