Bhagalpur preeminently renowned as the Silk City has been the production nexus of fabrics in Bihar for centuries. The city has faced several ups and downs reflecting broader economic, technological, and social changes. After contributing to the local economy, the Bhagalpur silk products are exported in the international markets.
