Description
Ficus anacardiifolia Kunth & C.D. Bouché, Index Seminum [Berlin] 15. 1846.
Lectotype (designated here): —Hort. Bot. Berol., origin unknown, Kunth & Bouché s.n. (U-0004634!).
Nomenclatural notes:— The protologue does not state the name of the herbarium where the holotype of F. anacardiifolia was deposited. Berg & DeWolf (1975) mentioned that the type was in the Berlin herbarium (B); however, this specimen was not found there. The only known original material is in Utretch (U) herbarium, which we have chosen as the lectotype.
Taxonomical notes:— The currently accepted name for this taxon remain uncertain, Berg (2007b) has doubt if it is Ficus americana subsp. guianensis (Desv. ex Ham.) C.C. Berg.
