Distribution in India: Tamil Nadu (Manimangalam near Tambaram, Chennai, growing on aquatic grasses in a road side stagnant pond. Jan.).
Note: The Indian species is very peculiar ecologically growing in a small stagnant roadside pond and was based on a single original collection made in 1990.
