Thymus brevicalyx Strobl (1833: 330)
Type (lectotype, designated here):— ITALY. In monte S. Angelo prope Castellamare, 1 July 1873, Strobl P. G. s.n. (K barcode K001070013!; image of the lectotype is available at https://plants.jstor.org/stable/10.5555/al.ap.specimen. k001070013).
Protologue citation:—“Um Neapel, besonders am M. S. Angelo! etc., in Sicilien?”.
Taxonomic notes:— Thymus brevicalyx is a heterotypic synonym of Th. longicaulis C.Presl subsp. longicaulis .
