Subject: This lesson focuses on Global Perspectives – Digital Citizenship

Abstract: Children encounter various stereotypes in the media, but are they always aware of what they're seeing? This lesson helps students think critically about how gender stereotypes can affect the way they view themselves and others.

Lesson Plan Method: The lesson employs face-to-face learning.

Age of Students: 10 years old

Preparation Time: 60 minutes

Teaching Time: 80 minutes

Learning Objectives: By completing this learning plan, students will achieve learning outcomes and develop skills such as:

  • Defining "gender stereotype" and identifying how they can be present online.
  • Describing how gender stereotypes can lead to unfairness or bias.
  • Creating an avatar and a poem that reflect how gender stereotypes impact who they are.
