HISTORY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FIELD OF GEODESY

This article is devoted to the study of the history of the development of geodesy until the 21st century.  The article describes the formation and development of the main principles and technologies of geodesy, as well as its contribution to science and practice.  The historical roots of the science of geodesy go back to ancient times, this process has been enriched by various geographical and astronomical studies for many years.  At the same time, the article describes how geodesy developed through the discoveries, technological achievements and scientific developments of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the rise of geodesy to a new level during this period as a result of the scientific and technical revolution.  In the 21st century, the introduction of digital technologies has further developed geodesy, giving it new opportunities related to space measurements and global positioning systems (GPS).  By consistently analyzing the history of geodesy, the article reveals its scientific and technological aspects and provides information about its future prospects.
