VALUABLE Chemically produced chitin

Chitin-Glucan should be extracted from Aspergillus niger biomass, provided by Jungbunzlauer. The extraction was done chemically, using the process technology for chitin extraction from crustacean shells with adaptions to this special raw material. The extraction from Chitin-Glucan from A. niger biomass was successfully achieved. Further process optimization needs to be conducted in the course of the project to maximise the extraction efficiency and allow for effective Chitosan production.
