Description

In modern conditions, the process of selecting students of educational institutions to prepare future scholars is considered an important condition for the implementation of the multifaceted tasks facing humanity as an active mobilizing factor in the progress of society. It is for this reason that all opportunities should be used to promote the scientific development of students through their involvement in research activities. The article reveals the question of the readiness of students of higher medical educational institutions, in particular on the example of Cherkassy Medical Academy, to participate in research work (on the example of the study of chemistry). The studying of professional literature suggests that the issue is not adequately covered in the aspect of the training of medical students.

From the experience we draw attention to the factors contributing to the performance of such activities and give examples of search tasks that contribute to increasing the level of readiness for scientific activity. To determine the level of readiness of students, we conducted a survey. In the course of which it was found that students in the first year have a low level of readiness. After completing a number of search tasks for 3 years of study (make crossword puzzles, models, tests, presentations, schemes of synthesis of chemicals) and industrial practices, we note the high level of readiness of students for scientific activity. We believe that scientific work relates to a higher level of mental human activity, so it needs to consistently prepare students for all years of study. The training of future medical professionals involves mastery of critical and creative thinking, methods for processing large volumes of information, information protection, creation of expert systems, rapid response to unusual situations, lability with the use of certain methods of treatment or use of pharmaceuticals, and the skills of work in the team.
