Early childhood education is an effort to focus on children aged 0-6 years with the aim of optimizing their full and optimal growth and development. This research aims to describe the background and motivation of parents, as well as typologize parents' views on sending their children to Early Childhood Education. There are many pros and cons in sending young children to PAUD level schools. Pro-parents are of the opinion that children can get many benefits if they are at school, children can socialize with their friends, can learn by playing, can be independent, and can stimulate aspects of development in children. This research uses a qualitative method where the research subjects are parents who send their children to a playhouse playgroup totaling 39 people. Research data was collected by means of participant observation, structured interviews and documentation studies. The type of approach used in this research is a phenomenological approach. The research results show that parents have different perceptions regarding children's education at an early age, but overall it can be said that parents' perceptions are quite good. The main background and motivation for parents to enroll their children in PAUD or Playhouse Playgroup, namely the ambition for children to be able to read, write and count quickly, religious or moral and religious motivation, motivation to explore and develop children's potential, as well as to make tasks easier. parents in caring for children at home.
