Communicative Competence is seen as both the foundation and the ultimate objective for teaching speaking. Understanding Communicative Competence can assist teachers in creating a conducive environment for natural speaking among students. This article aims to provide the importance of developing communicative competence in teaching speaking skills. The communicative model of language teaching emphasizes authentic practice to assist students obtain the necessary knowledge for real-life communication settings. Teachers try to assist students in producing grammatically accurate, logically connected phrases that are suited for specific settings, while also ensuring comprehensible pronunciation.
