Description
This paper synthesizes various theoretical concepts and empirical studies to explore the characteristics of contemporary organizations that can survive and thrive in discontinuous environments. Building on the model of reconfigurable organizations proposed by Galbraith et al. (2002), this study delves into the essential characteristics that enable such organizations to maintain adaptability and resilience. These characteristics include active leadership, knowledge management, continuous learning, flexibility, integration, employee commitment, and change readiness. The paper illustrates how these elements contribute to the design of a reconfigurable organizational structure, characterized by the ongoing redesign of processes and structures through strategic resource redeployment. The insights provided here emphasize the importance of these enablers in fostering organizations capable of dynamically adjusting to ever-changing conditions, ensuring long-term sustainability and success
