Description

Developing attractive learning experiences that are convenient to use and meet the diverse learning needs
of polytechnic students is challenging. However, advances in simulation technologies, such as augmented reality
(AR) and virtual reality (VR), enable such alterations. Therefore, in this study an interactive augmented reality
visualization for autonomous vehicle robot teaching and learning approach is introduced. It offers better teaching
and learning and engaging an interactive data visualization and information. An interactive augmented reality
visualization system was developed by creating 3D models from real objects with the help of an image-based modeling
tool and then converting these models into interactive AR elements using an AR authoring tool. The developed
interactive AR was tested and validated based on the application and functionality algorithm and through a survey
respectively. Through the application and functionality algorithm, the generated QR code was tested and able to
provide the user with interactive AR visualization and information. The survey evaluated six elements that are
effectiveness, fun, usefulness, satisfaction, individual impact, and continued use on 36 students enrolled in the
Mechanical Engineering Departments. Based on the survey, all the six elements achieved up to 90% score. Based on
the findings, the developed interactive AR visualization and information able to provide the student with a positive
perception of augmented technology in their learning process and able to enhance the quality of education, teaching
learning and training activity. In the future, this AR visualization approach could be integrated with VR to enhance
the quality of education, teaching learning and training activity.
