Enhancing Innovation Management through the Implementation of an Innovations Reporting System (IReS): A Solution to Standardize Documentation and Improve Data Integrity
Authors/Creators
Description
Innovation effort is crucial for organizations seeking to drive proactive change and gain a competitive
edge through new opportunities, improved processes, and the implementation of novel ideas. However, many
organizations face challenges in managing their innovation records due to a lack of standardization in formats and
templates, as well as difficulties in identifying suitable tools for documenting innovation-related data. This often
results in manual recording systems that struggle to maintain data integrity and accuracy, leading to incomplete or
outdated records that hinder collaboration and data sharing. As a solution to these challenges, this abstract proposes
the adoption of an Innovations Reporting System (IReS). Such a system could streamline the recording process,
enhance data integrity, empower organizations to make informed decisions, and facilitate the generation of
comprehensive analyses and reports, ultimately supporting organizations in their innovation endeavors. Various
stakeholders within an organization could benefit from implementing IReS including management teams,
innovation departments, project managers, and employees involved in idea generation.
