Description

Plectrothrips sp.

A single female of this genus was taken on Hawaii from dead wood at Kipuka Ki, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and one male and one female of the same species were taken on Oahu from dead branches on the Mokuleia Trail (deposited in ANIC). The species cannot at present be identified, because all three specimens are de-alate. However, it appears to share all the available character states with orientalis Okajima from Malaysia (Okajima 1981).
