Description

The research activities done in this HyDelta3 work package and a case study in two different networks give several insights in how to control the future hydrogen grid in case there will be more distributed local hydrogen feeders. Digitalization can help to design a more robust grid or improve operational excellence. A profile-based simulation tool can help the grid operator to make decisions about which solution should be implemented to increase the capacity and controlling the feeders. Based on measurement data from past years and weather profiles, we can predict the consumption profiles. Then one can determine the period and with capacity in a year, where the feeder supply is higher than the total demand. Thus, DSOs can determine which solution should be implemented: e.g. a booster station, curtailment of the feeder, pressure management or surface/sub-surface storage.
