Simulated Camera Data for EMVA 1288 Verification
Description
Abstract
This simulated data can serve to verify the methods and algorithms according to EMVA 1288.
Technical info
Simulated data for verification of methods and algorithms according to EMVA 1288
This data set contains simulated data from a 12-bit monochrome camera with the following specifications:
- 12 bit resolution (gray values between 0 and 4095)
- quantum efficiency η = 0.5
- overall system gain K = 0.1
- mean dark value μy.dark = 29.4 DN
Dark noise and DSNU
The standard deviation of the dark noise is σd = 30 e- or 3.0 DN.
The DSNU has a white spatial standard deviation of 1.5 DN and two sinusoidal patterns with an amplitude of 1.5 DN and frequencies in horizontal and vertical direction of 0.04 and 0.2 cylces/pixel, respectively.
One hundred outlier pixels at random positions are added with an excess dark signal equally distributed between 0 and 15 DN.
PRNU
The PRNU has a white spatial standard deviation of 0.5 %.
In addition, a slightly inhomogenous illumination with a quadratic fall-off towards the edges by about 3 % was simulated.
One hundred outlier pixels at random positions are added with a reduced sensitivity that is equally distributed between 70 % and 100 % of the mean sensitivity.
Nonlinearity
The signal is modeled slightly nonlinear according to the following model:
y' = y * ( 1 – 0.02 * (y/ymax)3 )
with ymax = 4095.
Data files
- RAW
The data set contains two sets of images All images are raw 16-bit images, stored row by row and have a size of 640 x 480 = 614 400 bytes.- 51 images at 51 equally distributed illumination steps from a dark image to saturation. For each illumination step, two images were taken. These images have the names
mv01-[nr]a.raw and mv01-[nr]b.raw, where [nr] is a 3-digit number from 000 to 050. The number of photons/pixel increase from step to step by 1659.66 photons/pixel. At the last step (image 050), the pixel is irradiated by 82983 photons, image 000 is the dark image. - 100 dark images and 100 images at 50% saturation for inhomogeneity images with the names dsnu01-.raw and prnu01-.raw
- 51 images at 51 equally distributed illumination steps from a dark image to saturation. For each illumination step, two images were taken. These images have the names
- HDF5 (about HDF5)
All images are in one HDF5-File.
The file consists of following objects:- "dsnu" (100 x 480 x 640) 100 dark images;
- "prnu" (100 x 480 x 640) 100 images at 50% saturation;
- "raw1" (51 x 480 x 640) first image at 51 illumination steps;
- "raw2" (51 x 480 x 640) second image at 51 illumination steps;
