Electronic governance is a powerful tool to run the government effectively and easily and also citizens can receive the services without any problem and becoming much transparent. The e-governance is one of the critical factors for the empowerment of the population that lives in the rural areas with the little chances to socialize. This article is going to discuss whether or not databases can be helpful for e-governance in gram panchayats, the smallest white elephant of self-governments throughout India. Information structuring is a way of organizing workflow for the variety of digital governance tasks such as applications, billing, delivery, solving problems, document management and notifications. Relying upon empirical evidence and case studies, this article aims to sketch the benefits, barriers as well as planning strategies in order to approach database-driven platforms in e-government projects.
