Design and Development of Compressed Air to Air Heat Exchanger
- 1. Zeal College of Engineering & Research, Pune, Maharashtra, India
Description
This study focuses on the literature study for gaining available research for the design of a compressed air shell and tube heat exchanger & use it for precooling in an air drier. Due to the scarcity of available literature study over design of compressed air heat exchanger, efforts were made to explain the understandings or studies from each literature and have been carefully shown within the review. The review further follows by performing an analysis over the calculated values based on the literatures and comparing them with CFD results to prove the design accuracy and efficiency. The proposed design offers 20-30% energy savings compared to conventional air dryers by leveraging waste heat recovery. With a cost around 8-10% of the air dryer, the heat exchanger integration presents an economical solution to enhance air drying performance across industries while reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
