Towards a United European Research Area: The Ljubljana Process and Beyond, Eurodoc Annual Conference 2024

Description

The Eurodoc conference is an annual conference focusing on the conditions of early career researchers (ECRs). It is organised in collaboration with Eurodoc and one or more of Eurodoc’s member organisations. The 2024 two-day conference was held on June 4th and 5th at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia
‘‘The Eurodoc Conference 2024 – Towards a United European Research Area: The Ljubljana process and beyond’’ was organised by Eurodoc and the Young Academy of Slovenia (Mlada akademija), with support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Slovenia, the University of Ljubljana, the Central Technical Library (CTK), and by the Institute of Information Science (IZUM).
The conference took note of the developments in our academic systems over the past 20 years and provided the framework to address further existing imbalances. This included an uneven brain circulation within the EU, but goes far beyond that in the existing disparities between member states. As the efforts of the past decade do not seem to significantly close this gap between the EU-13 and the EU-14, the topic is very timely and relevant.
