Description
The Biologische Anstalt Helgoland (BAH) has been conducting Long-term Ecological Research (LTER) for over 60 years. This research involves substantial manual labor, particularly to ensure the quality processing of the data. In a novel approach, signicant portions of the data management process have been digitized and automated to establish a Plausibility and Quality Control (PQC) system that adheres to the FAIR principles of scientic data management. To achieve this, the O2A data ow framework was facilitated for eective metadata management, and a tool written in R and Shiny was developed. This tool creates a web browser-based workow for annotating and agging measurement data in accordance with community standards. The output is prepared for publication via PANGAEA. The initial version of this tool shows great promise. Further testing and development will enhance the PQC procedure at BAH, enabling the conduct of FAIR scientic work, data analysis, and data publication.
