ЛІТУРГІЙНА ЛЕКСИКА В СТАРОУКРАЇНСЬКІЙ ЛЕКСИКОГРАФІЇ: СПЕЦИФІКА ПЕРЕКЛАДАЦЬКОЇ РЕЦЕПЦІЇ

Description

The article is devoted to the study of liturgical vocabulary in Old
Ukrainian lexicography in the aspect of the translational reception of Church Slavonic lexical
heritage. The sources of the study were three dictionaries: «Lexis ... prosto» 80th years of the XVI
century, «Lexis» of Lavrentiy Zyzaniy (Vilno, 1596) and «Lexicon» of Pamva Berynda (Kyiv,
1627). Specificity of these lexicographic works was determined by the fact that they were an
instrument of interpretation of the sacred texts of Christianity, contributed to their understanding
– an important for the Middle Ages philological task. The study analyzed sources of dictionaries,
an attempt was made to isolate the liturgical lexical material itself, to break it into thematic groups.
Іt is shown that the authors of dictionaries demonstrate the rejection of the traditional principles for
the Cyril and Methodius tradition of translating vocabulary with its focus on the original language
(loan translating, borrowing), focusing on the current state of the Old Ukrainian lexical system.
