Archive: Effect of transient vortex interactions on the size and strength of Jupiter's Great Red Spot

The files archived here are associated with C. Keaveney, G. Lackmann, and T. Dowling's Effect of transient vortex interactions on the size and strength of Jupiter's Great Red Spot in Icarus. Included are version 5.22 of the Explicit Planetary Isentropic-Coordinate (EPIC) atmosphere model used for the study, as well as a "starter kit" of input files, batch scripts, and python scripts used to carry out simulations of a GRS-like vortex undergoing periodic interactions with smaller vortices. The methodology of these simulations is described in detail in the manuscript, and README_starterkit offers details to assist in implementation. Also included are six Jupyter notebooks which were used for post-processing, analyzing, and plotting the model output, and five NumPy arrays with the length, width, aspect ratio, eddy potential vorticity mean, and dynamic tropopause potential temperature anomaly mean data described in the manuscript.
