The Political Alchemy of Trust
Description
This paper examines the methodological connection between Agnes Horvath's "Political Alchemy: Technology Unbounded" and its relationship with the sociological literature on trust. Trust is a pivotal concept that underpins and manifests in the architecture of our personal relationships, familial interactions, business dealings, and engagements with both formal and informal institutions. Our analysis utilizes cosine similarity metrics from Large Language Models to demonstrate that the methodologies employed in "Political Alchemy" are more effective than traditional sociological approaches for exploring the meanings and origins of fundamental concepts such as trust. By leveraging advanced artificial intelligence technologies, we argue that Horvath's approach not only offers a novel research direction but also a superior one.
