Description
Mahatma Jyotiba Phule was a great social reformer and agriculturist of the 19th century. The development of our economy depends on the development of agriculture. Phule was identified. It is seen that he raised the questions of the farmers with aplomb because he has an idea that the development of agriculture depends on the hard work of the farmers and farm labourers. His thoughts on agriculture and farmers are still useful today. His agricultural views are certainly useful in the face of recent persistent droughts. Jyotiba Phule's economic and political views have to be considered in the context of contemporary colonial economics and political policy. As the main source of income of the state at that time was land revenue or agricultural tax, in order to collect maximum revenue easily, the British government brought drastic changes in the three aspects of land holding, tax and agricultural levy and their collection in the country. Mahatma Phule's views on agriculture are mentioned in the research paper.
