Description

Hydro-geomorphology is a science that deals with occurrences of water with respect to landforms. Geomorphologists recognize that the way water is delivered and a move through a hill slope, river or landscape affects surface processes and geomorphic form, Hydrologists recognize that geomorphology drives the spatial and temporal distribution of surface water and groundwater. But both groups have sometimes seemed to lack the vocabulary and interdisciplinary tools to facilitate making advances truly at the intersection of geomorphology and hydrology. Hydrologists, Earth scientists and geomorphologists have made their efforts to understand and synthesize hydrologic response of a drainage basin to morphologic, topographic features and established a relationship between fluvial geomorphology and hydrology to formalize the term 'Hydrogeomorphology'. The river basin unit is the most confined unit for the hydrogeomorphic study. In this book the present study is related to watershed management through Hydrogeomorphology. Watershed management is the need of the time for the present global water crisis.
