Description

Tectocepheus velatus elegans Ohkubo, 1981

Tectocepheus ca. elegans: Palacios-Vargas et al. (2003); Salazar-Santana (2016).

Tectocepheus elegans: Guzmán-Sánchez & Iglesias (2005); Vázquez et al. (2016).

Distribution: Eastern Palearctic, Mexico and Vietnam.

Records in Mexico: Hidalgo, San Luis Potosi, Puebla and Quintana Roo.

Biogeographic province: Transmexican Volcanic Belt. Balsas Basin. Sierra Madre Oriental. Yucatan Peninsula.

Habitat: Agricultural soil. Tree canopy. Soil outside a cave. Leaf litter and soil of medium sub evergreen forest, lowland forest, mangrove and halophyte vegetation. Litter in low deciduous forest.
