Description
Bonthaina solitaria Heller, 1900: 21–22. Type locality: SW Sulawesi, Mt. Lompobatang.
Description. Holotype (Fig. 11a). Length. Pronotum plus elytron 4.08 mm. Integument ferruginous; sparsely clothed with recumbent, ovate, greenish-iridescent scales. Head with sulcus separating rostral base curved. Eyes asymmetrically convex, drawn posteriad. Rostrum shorter than wide (0.84 X), sides subparallel; dorsum swollen. Pronotum 1.08 X longer than wide; scabrous-nodulate, medially with shallow impression. Elytra subovate 1.39 X as long as wide; dorsally somewhat flattened; intervals with scattered granules each bearing an upcurved scale; near declivity intervals 1, 3, and 5 with small tubercles. Genitalia. Penis (Fig. 11b) with sides of body subparallel to rounded apex. Apodeme [tip broken] at least as long as body of penis, attached to body with flexible loop. Endophallus long, with flagellum.
Material examined. Holotype male: INDONESIA, S-Sulawesi: Mt. Lompobatang, X-XI.1895, leg. Drs. Sarasin; labels (Fig. 11c); condition: fair, formerly pinned through right elytron; genitalia in glycerol in microtube; DNA extraction ARC4032 (GenBank # OR557447) (SMTD).
