У Командорских островов встречен на глубинах от 10 до 250 м на скалистых грунтах.
Р а с п р о с т р а н е н и е. Бореально-арктический вид. Распространен от морей Северного Ледовитого океана до о-ва Хоккайдо, в северной части Японского моря, у берегов Англии и Зал. Кейп-Код.
