Preprint for "Numerical and experimental evaluation of porous material for use in multi-scale topology optimization"

Description

The aim of this study is to prove that the choice of structured material and manufacturing orientation during additive manufacturing is crucial for the final performance of the multi-scale topology optimization result. The evaluation is performed numerically and experimentally. In the extreme case where both approaches are combined, the weight reduction is 44.5% numerically and 32.7% experimentally.
