Calcochloris tytonis Simonetta 1968, Monitore Zool. Ital., n. s., 2 (suppl.): 31.
Type Locality: Somalia, Giohar (= Villaggio Duca degli Abruzzi).
Vernacular Names: Somali Golden Mole.
Distribution: Known only from the type specimen.
Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered as Chlorotalpa tytonis.
Discussion: Subgenus incertae sedis (Bronner 1995 a). Assigned to Amblysomus by Simonetta (1968:31) and Petter (1981 a); Meester (1974) placed this species in Chlorotalpa.
