Chrysochloris (Chrysochloris) visagiei Broom 1950, Ann. Transvaal Mus., 21: 238.

Type Locality: South Africa, Western Cape Prov., Gouna (54 mi. [87 km] E Calvinia).

Vernacular Names: Visagie's Golden Mole.

Distribution: Known only from the holotype.

Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered.

Discussion: Subgenus Chrysochloris. Possibly an aberrant asiatica; see Meester (1974). Simonetta (1968:31) listed it as a subspecies of asiatica.
