Mustela kathiah Hodgson 1835, J. Asiat. Soc. Bengal, 4: 702.

Type Locality: "Kachar region" [Nepal].

Vernacular Names: Yellow-bellied Weasel.

Subspecies::

Subspecies Mustela kathiah subsp. kathiah Hodgson 1835

Subspecies Mustela kathiah subsp. caporiaccoi de Beaux 1935

Distribution: Burma, S and E China, Indochinese peninsula, Nepal, N Pakistan.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix III (India); IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Abramov (1999) placed kathiah in the subgenus Gale. Synonmys allocated according to Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951).
