Type Locality: Australia, New South Wales, Sydney.

Vernacular Names: Long-nosed Bandicoot.

Synonyms: Perameles lawson Quoy and Gaimard 1824; Perameles major Schinz 1825; Perameles musei (Boitard 1841); Perameles pallescens Thomas 1923.

Distribution: Australia: E Queensland, E New South Wales, E Victoria.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc). Common.
