Heteromys (Heteromys) oasicus Anderson 2003

Heteromys (Heteromys) oasicus Anderson 2003, Am. Mus. Novit., 3396: 9.

Type Locality: Venezuela, Estado Falcón, 42 km N, 32 km W or Coro, Cerro Santa Ana, 550 m.

Vernacular Names: Paraguana Spiny Pocket Mouse.

Distribution: Known only from Cerro Santa Ana and the Fila de Monte Cano on the Penínsulsa de Paraguaná, Estado Falcón, Venezuela.

Discussion: This is the species recognized by Handley (1976) as undescribed at that time; reported as H. anomalus by Bisbal-E. (1990).
