Type Locality: Tanzania, Udzungwa Scarp Forest Reserve, 19.5 km W Chita, 8°20'50''S, 35°56'20''E, 2000 m.

Vernacular Names: Kihaule's Mouse Shrew.

Distribution: Udzungwa Mtns, Tanzania.

Discussion: Populations of the Rungwe Mtns may belong to this species or represent a different taxon (Stanley and Hutterer, 2000).
