Sylvisorex granti Thomas 1907, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 7, 19: 118.

Type Locality: Uganda, Ruwenzori East, Mubuku Valley, 10,000 ft. (3,048 m).

Vernacular Names: Grant's Forest Shrew.

Subspecies::

Subspecies Sylvisorex granti subsp. granti Thomas 1907

Subspecies Sylvisorex granti subsp. mundus Osgood 1910

Distribution: Mountain forests of C (Dem. Rep. Congo, Uganda, Rwanda) and E Africa (Kenya, Tanzania).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: The isolated East African populations require a careful comparison with typical granti from the Rift Valley.
