Crocidura baluensis Thomas 1898

Crocidura baluensis Thomas 1898, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 7, 2: 247.

Type Locality: Sabah, Mt. Kinabalu.

Vernacular Names: Kinabalu Shrew.

Distribution: High altitudes (ca. 1600-3700 m) of Gunung Kinabalu, Sabah; perhaps also Sarawak.

Discussion: Regarded a distinct species by Corbet and Hill (1992) and Ruedi (1995). Replaced at lower altitudes by C. foetida.
