Type Locality: Jamaica, Kingston.
Vernacular Names: Cuban Lesser Funnel-eared Bat.
Subspecies::
Subspecies Chilonatalus micropus subsp. micropus Dobson 1880
Subspecies Chilonatalus micropus subsp. brevimanus Miller 1898
Subspecies Chilonatalus micropus subsp. macer Miller 1914
Distribution: Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, Providencia Isl (Colombia).
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc) as Natalus micropus.
Discussion: Includes brevimanus and macer; see Varona (1974) and Timm and Genoways (2003). Formerly included tumidifrons; but see Ottenwalder and Genoways (1982) who revised both species; also see Hall (1981). Kerridge and Baker (1978) treated only the nominate subspecies.
