Type Locality: Ghana, Bibianaha.

Vernacular Names: Spurrell's Free-tailed Bat.

Distribution: Guinea to Rio Muni, Bioko (Equatorial Guinea), Central African Republic, and Dem. Rep. Congo.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Subgenus Xiphonycteris.
