Type Locality: Puerto Rico, Cueva Catedral near Morovis.

Vernacular Names: Puerto Rican Flower Bat.

Distribution: Puerto Rico.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Extinct.

Discussion: Subgenus Phyllonycteris. Known only from subfossil skeletal material from the type locality; see Hall (1981).
