Abstract. The formation of a qualified worker is a complex process, which should focus not 
only on professional skills and the appropriate level of knowledge, but also direct young people to 
the development of the necessary "soft skills", which are now a necessary component of professional 
activity. These skills are aimed at developing the individual's ability to psychological and social 
flexibility in changing situations, interaction with others, the ability to communicate and be tolerant, 
show empathy and develop reflection, think analytically and creatively, be technologically literate, 
etc. "Soft skills" are seen as developing throughout life and are a necessary foundation and a 
continuous process of overall personal development. During the professional training of future 
specialists, the development of soft skills continues, while hard skills begin to form after entering a 
technical institution of higher education. The development of soft skills in technical institutions of 
higher education takes place with the help of humanitarian disciplines. A schematic representation 
and theoretical description of "Step by step" development of soft skills in future specialists of 
technical specialties is offered.
The role of modern pedagogical technologies, which positively affect the development of soft 
skills of future specialists in technical specialties, is considered. Approaches to the classification and 
types of modern pedagogical technologies, the experience of their application by foreign and 
domestic scientists are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the use of interactive learning 
technologies, information and communication technologies of learning, the use of elements of game 
methods and technologies, the project method as the most effective in the development of soft skills 
of future specialists in technical specialties.
A description of the author's interactive classes and an evaluation system are offered. The 
method of rear assessment (mutual assessment of students based on the criteria set by the teacher) is 
analyzed as a basis for evaluating interactive classes.
