动态古地理重建平台建设构想 Proposal for Building a Dynamic Paleogeographic Reconstruction Platform

Creators

Description

The proposal outlines the background, challenges, and proposed solutions for developing a dynamic paleogeographic reconstruction platform. The study emphasizes the need for accurate and extensive geological and geophysical data to reconstruct the spatial distribution of various landforms such as mountains, plateaus, plains, and basins throughout geological history. The challenges highlighted include the multidisciplinary nature, diverse data types, and the vast amount of data involved in paleogeographic reconstruction. Key issues identified are the quality and transparency of raw data, the interpretation process of geological data, and the application of these interpretations in creating accurate reconstructions. The proposed platform aims to leverage the Deep-Time Digital Earth (DDE) framework to standardize data interpretation and mapping processes, enhance data and interpretation transparency, and enable dynamic updates and conflict resolution in paleogeographic reconstructions. The ultimate goal is to create an interactive and community-driven platform that supports reproducible and high-quality geological reconstructions, thereby advancing the field of paleogeography.
