Aegus insignis Nagel, 1941: 60. Type locality: Malacca. Benesh 1960: 102; Mizunuma & Nagai 1994: 292; Krajcik 2003: 18; Fujita 2010: 363.

Material examined (3♂♂, 1♀). Thailand: 1♂, 1♀ (WPC), Nakhon Si Thammarat Prov., Thung Song Dist., Nam Tok, 13.VIII.2019, Aussawa Samudjit leg.; 1♂ (THNHM), Nakhon Si Thammarat Prov., 17.IV.2007, Weeyawat Jaitrong & Tadsanai Jeenthong leg.; 1♂ (KKIC), Nakhon Si Thammarat Prov., Khao Nan, 11.III.2004, N. Pinkaew leg.

Distribution. Malaysia (Nagel 1941; Mizunuma & Nagai 1994; Krajcik 2003; Fujita 2010) and Thailand (Nakhon Si Thammarat Province) (new record).
