Exploring the Efficacy of Herbal Remedies in Onychomycosis Treatment: A Comprehensive Review

Description

The most prevalent fungal infection of fingernails or toenails in the general public is onychomycosis. The previous ten years have shown an upsurge in the incidence rate, primarily as a result of immunocompromised conditions. Since the pathogen's antifungal capabilities are being countered by medication resistance, the high incidence of fungal infections is becoming an increasingly pressing issue in medical science. One of the safer, more affordable, less harmful side effect-prone alternatives to synthetic medications for treating fungal infections is the use of medicinal plants and herbal products. This review attempts to investigate the scientific effects of traditionally used herbal medication against onychomycosis. Further research is necessary to fully comprehend the role that herbal plants play in combating the developing pathogens that cause a variety of dermatological health issues in the dynamic environment.
