This article examines the sound symbolism in Edgar Allan Poe's work «The Raven». The value of this poem lies in its vivid examples of sounds created by the special structure of the verse. «The Raven» is a work in which it is impossible to separate the word from its sound. Analyzing this poem has revealed the author's worldview, the subtext of the poem, and thereby approached the disclosure of the author's auditory world.
